Why I Chose the University of Pittsburgh
I chose UPMC for my general surgery residency for various reasons, including the collegiate atmosphere amongst residents and their positive relationships with attending physicians that I noted during my interview. However, the countless academic opportunities provided to residents in areas such as clinical and basic science research and surgical education ultimately helped to confirm my decision to travel to Pittsburgh for my training.
Non-Academic Accomplishments
I love to bake and run, which hopefully is a healthy pairing during our busy intern year! I am training for the NYC marathon and will hopefully have the opportunity to run the Pittsburgh marathon this upcoming spring with some of my colleagues.
