Research Projects
Clinical Research: (Industry Support: Delcath Systems, Inc) My research involves novel techniques for the administration of regional chemotherapy delivery for patients with unresectable hepatic malignancies. At present, the 2 operative strategies we employ are an Isolated Hepatic Perfusion (IHP) performed via laparotomy and percutaneous hepatic perfusion. Both strategies employ intra-arterial melphalan. Patients treated include those with primary hepatic malignancies and metastatic colorectal and neuroendocrine tumors. Scientific correlates include pharmacokinectic analysis of drug delivery
