Why I Chose the University of Pittsburgh

I chose Pittsburgh for residency because I thought it offered the overall best training. Residents get to operate on a wide variety of cases, take care of a broad range of patients from uncomplicated appendicits to complex mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix. Pittsburgh offered the best combination of surgical and medical training for the residents such that the residents are comfortable taking care of all types of patients. As well the residency program is great, there is good resident comradarie, it is a comfortable atmosphere to be a resident, and the attendings are great to work with.
