General Surgery Residents Present at SIS Meeting and Bring Home Awards

Congratulations to our following general surgery residents who presented at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Surgical Infection Society (SIS) in St. Louis, Missouri, May 2-5, 2017:

  • Shaun Siow: An Evidence-Based Care Protocol Decreases Length of Stay and Cost in Pediatric Appendicitis
  • Andrew Yeh: Fecal Microbiota Transplantation Rescues the Gut Microbiome and Improves Symptoms in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease. For his presentation, Dr. Yeh won the Joseph Susman Memorial Award, a meritorious honor awarded annually to the author of the most significant manuscript presented in Surgical Infection.
  • Anthony Lewis: Very Early (Prehospital) Antibiotics and Fluids in the Treatment of Sepsis: A Murine Trial
  • John Griepentrog: Blue Light Reduces Neutrophil Influx in Acute Lung Injury. Dr. Griepentrog won the 1st Place, Oral Presentation Award for his work.
