David A. Geller, MD

Dr. David Geller is internationally renowned for his pioneering contributions to minimally invasive liver surgery, playing a key role in establishing laparoscopic liver resection as a standard treatment for liver disease. A distinguished surgeon-scientist, he has advanced the fields of liver injury and cancer biology through groundbreaking research supported by continuous NIH funding for more than 30 years. Through his leadership in clinical care, research, and education, Dr. Geller has mentored generations of surgeons and scientists while making enduring contributions to patient care and biomedical discovery. Dr. Geller has published 320 scientific papers and chapters. He is often a guest lecturer speaking on the management of liver tumors and has presented at more than 410 meetings or seminars. He has active research grants from the NIH, and is also the Principal Investigator on Industry-sponsored clinical trials for liver cancer.
